Bike trails

Clean air, lack of heavy car traffic and beautiful views in the closer and more distant surroundings of WENA are conducive to cycling. For amateurs of two wheels, Miedzichowo and the neighboring communes will certainly be attractive due to a dozen or so bicycle routes of various lengths and levels of difficulty. What exactly does the Nowy Tomyśl poviat propose? There are a total of 300 km of bicycle routes here, and most of them have been designed for typical sightseeing and thematic trips, showing the natural, historical and most picturesque corners of the region. They include asphalt, dirt and sand roads.

At this point, it is worth recalling what the colors of the trails that we meet on our way mean, because, contrary to first associations, they are not degrees of difficulty. For this reason, you do not have to be discouraged, for example, by reaching a black marking – a skier may then mistakenly think that this is the most difficult trail.

Cycling route markings – colors:

red – main trail,

blue – long-distance trail,

yellow – access or liaison route,

green – a trail that leads to characteristic, e.g. tourist, places,

black – access route, short.

So: when we follow the red or blue trail, reaching the black or yellow marking, we are sure that we will get to the next trail, e.g. green, blue, red – at the beginning of cycling trips, a small pull tab will be useful.

The most interesting bicycle routes in the Nowy Tomyśl commune include:

The Bolewicka Pine Trail, Nowy Tomyśl – Lewice (blue), approx. 35 km long.

The cyclist has the opportunity to see the unique flora – a unique variety of Bolewice pine, considered extremely valuable on a national scale, which owes its name to a nearby town. The trail leads, among others through forests, abundant in this pine ecotype.

Hop and Wicker Trail, Opalenica – Nowy Tomyśl (red), approx. 26 km long.

The trail runs through various groundings, ranging from asphalt roads to marshy roads. Forest paths lead through places rich in mushrooms and forest fruits. On the way, we will see historic Olęder architecture, as well as unique museums: Meat Economy, Wicker and Hops. There is also a zoo at the end of the trail.

Trail to them. Emilii Sczaniecka, Opalenica – Lwówek (green), approx. 32 km long.

An interesting option for history enthusiasts – the name of the trail itself is an opportunity to get to know a unique personality, a woman who deservedly earned her credit during several uprisings: the November, Greater Poland and January uprisings. As we already know from the markings, on the road of the green trail you can see tourist attractions – in this case historic buildings, such as palaces and churches. It is worth taking a ride for a change, which will guarantee something more than picturesque landscapes and interesting nature.

Lake Błędno trail, around the lake (green), approx. 20 km long.

An alternative for people who want to go to Lake Błędno, with a beach and a municipal bathing area, where you can successfully practice water sports (e.g. sailing, canoeing) – ride a bicycle instead of a car, visiting a 19th-century blacksmith on the way and learning about the history of the surrounding area locality.

While staying in the WENA agritourism, in the Miedzichowo commune, you can overcome a lot of bicycle routes that are closer and equally charming. Most of them are fragments of longer routes that run through the commune. It's a good idea to cover several routes, short distances – guaranteed variety!

It is worth paying attention to:

Axis Piach Trail, i.e. MIEDZICHOWSKI PARIS – DAKAR, Borowy Młyn – Chmielinko (black), 22 km in the commune,

West – East route, Trzciel – Forester's Lodge Węgielnia (red), approx. 3 km in the commune,

North – South Trail, Łowynia – Miedzichowo (yellow), approx. 25 km in the commune,

Stagecoach Trail, Międzyrzecze – Poznań (black), approx. 5 km in the commune,

Boczek, Boczek, Silna – Trzciel (blue) trail, approx. 5 km in the commune.
